Six suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Sheriff Imoro, the slain soldier in Ashiaman, have been arraigned before the Ashiaman Circuit court on Monday, March 13.

The suspects, Samuel Tetteh, Abubakar Sadiq, Ibrahim Abdul Raqim, Safiano Yusif, and Abdul Sadiq Ibrahim Safiano Musah, were charged on two counts of conspiracy to commit crime to wit robbery and dishonestly receiving.

All the accused persons have denied any wrongdoing.

Lawyer Abdul Fatau Alhasan, who represented four of the suspects, requested bail for them, but the prosecutor, Superintendent, Silvester Asare, opposed the bail request, stating that the accused persons have no permanent place of abode and that granting them bail will temper the investigation.

The Presiding judge, Justice Simon Gaga, upon listening to arguments from both lawyers, denied bail to all six accused persons on the grounds of their inability to establish a permanent place of abode.

The court has therefore remanded them into police custody, and they are to reappear on April 27, 2023.
