Ghanaian highlife musician, actress and talent show judge, Paulina Oduro has commended Kofi Kinaata for staying true to his unique style without following trends.

She mentioned in an interview on Onua FM’s Adwuma Adwuma hosted by Felicia Osei recently that the Susuka hitmaker’s resolve to stay true to his music style has significantly contributed to his music success.

“Ghanaians in general are one way. It’s like we got a habit of copying if something is a hit. “That’s why I love Kofi so much. We are from the same place, Takoradi. His Fanti and my Fanti are very similar.

“Kofi has brought something that nobody can touch. Personally, I would wish other young people will follow suit,” she said.

The Tena Me Nkyen singer who heaped praises on Kofi’s distinctive music abilities also encouraged young artistes to chart their own paths and not be talent duplicators.

“He is not one of the road kinda guy. Kofi is actually very spiritual. You should listen to his lyrics, and melodies. I have other young people I love but this particular boy has love for humans. He is educative, he doesn’t pretend. He says it as it is, I love you Kofi,” she concluded.

Paulina Oduro’s singing profession became commercial in the 1980s when she was introduced to soca and reggae music by musicians and bands she played including David Rudder and Arrow.

She was part of the Casanova reggae band in 1982 which released the single Loving You This Way within a period of six months. Oduro went solo in 1999 launching her album, Woman Power.

She is credited with songs such as Akwaakwan and Let Me Be Me.
