The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) has signed a sponsorship deal with an indigenous company in the region, Home Group of Companies, popularly known as ‘Afe Lotto’, to become the official headline sponsor of the Volta Regional FA Cup
The deal, said to be worth Twenty-five thousand, (25,000) Ghana Cedis is exclusively for the headline sponsorship right for the 2022/2023 Volta FA Cup Competition.
The sponsorship is expected to lessen the burden on clubs competing in both the Division Two League and the Volta FA Cup.
Signing on behalf of Home Group of Companies, the founder and CEO, Mr. Joe Ayivor said partnering with the VRFA will help bring back the glory days of football and serve local fans competitive high-class games across the region.
“I’ve been part of the Association during the Voradep days when they were in the Premier, but unfortunately, it folded up. We saw that the local people were interested in football.”
“In recent times, football in the region is developing and getting mileage, and our local fans need high-class football, like the days when Voradep played Asante Kotoko which was so huge,” he stated.
“So the little help that we can give is what we are doing to support football in our land as we’ve started now,” he added.
Mr. Joe Ayivor is a well-known philanthropist and patron of the Volta Regional Football Association.
The VRFA Chairman, Daniel Agbogah, commended Home Group of Companies for the partnership.
“On behalf of the Executive Council, we want to express our profound gratitude, we never knew that the new dawn we have been preaching for our football will come so soon.” he said.
“This is another step forward for our regional football.”
“This is a big achievement, but we are seeing it as just the beginning of the steps we want to take. We are hoping that more of this will come to lift our football forward.”
Mr. Agbogah assured the new sponsor of the Regional FA’s commitment to carry a good image of the company.
“You have demonstrated your commitment by involving your company. We want to assure you that we will not do anything to soil the image of your company,” the RFA boss added.
The Volta Regional FA Cup competition is a new way of qualifying from the region to compete in the national FA Cup competition. It was introduced last year with Volta Rangers emerging as winners.
