Farmers receive assurance as Muslims observe Ramadan

The Agricultural Development Bank, ADB Plc. has reiterated its commitment to strengthen the Agri-business sector. This the Bank noted will be achieved through the provision of financial assistance to farmers as well as players within the agriculture value chain.

Presenting some food items to the office of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu as part of the Bank’s Ramadan donation in Accra, Managing Director of ADB PLC, Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu-Tali said this will not only help farmers expand their businesses but will go a long way to support society as employment opportunities will be created.

“The message to farmers is that you have a Bank which is ready to provide financial intermediation for you and to ensure that your businesses thrive,” he stated.  He said ADB has this year presented more than 400 bags of rice and 300 bags of sugar to many Muslim communities across the country’’ Alhaji Yakubu-Tali indicated.

“In the spirit of this sacred month of Ramadan, ADB has made it a key activity donating essential food items such as rice and sugar to Muslim communities across the country in support of their efforts in seeking Allah’s blessings for themselves, the entire nation and its institutions including ADB,” he noted.

He said the Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility has provided other social amenities such as boreholes, furniture for schools and renovated some facilities within the communities in which they operate especially.

For his part, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu through his Spokesperson, Sheik Aremeyaw Shaibu thanked ADB for the gesture. He used the occasion to pray for the Bank, the nation and other countries across the globe where there are conflicts.

“We are profoundly grateful to ADB for this kind of tradition that you do periodically during Ramadan. What you have brought is going to serve the interest of the needy and deprived in society,” Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu said.

“The goodness and blessings that comes with such donations are unimaginable. I therefore pray for God’s protection for ADB and Ghana. We also pray for peace in Bawku as well as countries around the world where there is turmoil,” he added.
