President Akufo-Addo commissions Abetifi Stone Age Park

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on relevant stakeholders to contribute towards the promotion of eco tourism in the country. This, according to him will help generate the needed revenue for the country as well as help to reduce unemployment among the teeming youth.

Thus, he commended the Chief Executive Officer of the park, Benjamin Addo for the initiative and assured him of government’s commitment to help expand the Project.

The President gave this assurance when he officially launched and commissioned the park at Kwahu Abetifi in the Kwahu District of the Eastern Region.

According to him, the economic impact of ecotourism in the country cannot be underestimated.

He was however hopeful that the Abetifi Stone Age Park will be one of the foremost tourist site in the country.

The Deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Mark Okraku Mantey observed that the introduction of the numerous initiatives by government in the Tourism industry has helped the country to significantly increased the number of its tourists to over one point five million which has injected more than three billion US dollars into the economy.

This, he added has also helped create job opportunities for the youth in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Park, Benjamin Addo in an interview with GBC NEWS had this to say about the development of the park.

He further encouraged both Ghanaians and Foreigners to visit the park for their relaxation and education purposes.

The Park which is sitting on a 52 acre land has artificial waterfall, a cave where Stone Age people live for years and other recreational facilities.
