Filling fees for NDC Presidential Aspirants reduced

The filing fees for NDC Presidential Aspirants has been reduced from 400,000 to 300,000 Ghana cedis and some presidential hopefuls have welcomed the decision by the party’s Council of Elders to reduce the fees.

The decision which was taken after a crunch meeting by the Council of Elders and National Executive Council (NEC) followed a petition by eight of the aspirants over the exorbitant fees.

The sale of nomination forms which closed on Tuesday, December 4, has now been extended to Saturday, December 8.

The nomination fee of GH¢20,000 has however been maintained. Speaking on “Behind the News”, member of the Joshua Alabi campaign team, Richard Quarshigah however noted that it would save the party some funds if the presidential and parliamentary elections are held on the same day as previously done.

A leading member of the Goosie Tanoh campaign team, Abdul Naser also shared his views on the reduction in the filing fees for presidential aspirants whiles  Peter Boamah Otokunor called on the aspirants to pick up the nomination forms before the closing date.
