Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has sent a goodwill message to Ghanaians and Muslims across the world as they celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr.

He was full of praise for them during the fasting season for ”braving the pangs of hunger and thirst for an entire month.”

President Akufo-Addo stated that despite the purpose for which the fasting was done, Muslims were able to adhere to the strict “disciplinary code” throughout the holy month.

In a Twitter post, the President prayed for Allah’s blessing and peace upon the Muslim community and Ghana wishing everyone a peaceful celebration.

“I pray that Allah accepts our collective prayers, continues to shower His grace, mercies and peace on our nation and makes her great and strong.

“I wish all Muslims blissful and peaceful Eid ul-Fitr celebrations.”, President Akufo-Addo wrote.

Eid al-Fitr is the earlier of the two official holidays celebrated within Islam. The religious holiday is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
