The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Simeon-Okraku, has paid a two-day working visit to the Volta Region.
This is the Ghana Football Association’s commitment to the development of grassroots football across the country.
During the president’s visit, he witnessed the coronation of Heart of Lions as Zone Three champions at Kpando on Sunday.
He commissioned three borehole facilities in Kpando, Ho, and Akatsi.
The borehole project is an initiative of the Executive Council to improve domestic competition across the football ecosystem.
Several facilities in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, and Brong Ahafo Regions have already been completed and commissioned by President Simeon-Okraku.
The project is fully funded by proceeds from FIFA Forward 1.0.
He also took time to visit and appreciate the support of benevolent individuals who are contributing to the development of football in the region.
He met Mr. Bright Adonai, the CEO of the Adonai Group of Companies, which sponsors the Volta Regional Division Two League.
“Thank you for supporting us in the region.”
The Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Richard Devine Bosson, who was enthused about the president’s visit, said, “This is the first time a sitting president of the Ghana Football Association is visiting my office.”
He expressed his joy at the pace at which football is developing in the region through the effort and teamwork of the Regional Football Association’s chairman, Daniel Agbogah.
The GFA President also spent time with the CEO of the From Home Group of Companies, Mr. Joe Ayivor, whose contribution to football has been extensive over the years.
The Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, Benard Ahiafor, the Technical Staff, the playing body, and fans of Akatsi All Stars hosted the FA president in a hearty reception.
