Akwane Dobro, Adipa and Asiyaw communities in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region have been hit by a heavy rainstorm. According to the victims, the rainstorm ripped off their roofing while they were inside their rooms.
Narrating the incident, the victims noted that the incident which happened on Sunday May 14, 2023, around 1pm has rendered them homeless forcing some of them to sleep outside.
The Assemblyman of the Adipa/Asiyaw electoral area, Joseph Yaw Konnor noted that seeking for places for the affected victims to sleep has become difficult. He added that, there was no casualty. However, one person was severely injured and has been admitted at the hospital.
On behalf of his people, Mr. Yaw Konnor appealed to the government and benevolent organizations to come to their aid.
The leader of the Ewe Community at Akwane Dobro, Torgbui Hunakpa said, he was surprised about the incident adding that it was his first time witnessing such incident in the community.
He also appealed to the government through the MCE, Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh to come to their aid.
