Tanko Nuhu Amadu of Maana FC earns call up to National duty

The 17-year old chap Tanko Nuhu Amadu, received the call-up into the National under 23 team ‘Black Meteors’ ahead of 2023 African cup of Nations in Morocco.

The youngster was spotted by the National team Coach Ibrahim Tanko after his bonzer performance in the just ended Access Bank Division one League.

Tanko Nuhu joined Maana Football Club in the Upper West Region in the 2022/2023 season in February 2023. Making 7 appearances, Tanko had 5 goals to his credit. He scored his first goal and hat-trick against the league leaders of the Zone one A, Techiman Eleven Wonders a former Ghana Premier league club. Nuhu Tanko is currently the all time top scorer for Maana FC after playing only 7 out of 28 matches in the season.

The reining utility striker has proven to the sport world his talent and skills up front. He had been described by many football pundits as modern day attacker.

Tanko is being celebrated in the Upper West Region for his goals scoring ability, acrobatics skills, dribbling and pacing.

Tanko Nuhu Amadu is expected to join his counterparts in camp at the Ghanaman Center of Excellence in Prampram ahead of the U-23 African Cup of Nations in June this year.

The Black Meteors are paired with the host Morocco, Guinea and Congo in Group A of the competition that serves as a qualifiers for the next Olympics games in Paris, France.

The U-23 AFCON is scheduled to begin on June 24 in Morocco with the final game set to be played on July 8.
