The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, Reverend Father Anthony Narh Asare, has admonished Ghanaians to stop reprimanding those put at the helm of affairs and rather identify their strengths and abilities that can help accelerate development.

According to him, a change in mindset and attitude towards each other will bring productivity to our various circles instead of always accusing leadership.

Speaking with GBC Obonu News in Agormanya, Reverend Father Asare charged Ghanaians to foster unity and work harder for the growth of the country.

He disclosed this during his visit to celebrate with the Chiefs and people of Agormanya and the Catholic Church Holy Trinity, where he was born and baptised upon his appointment as an Auxiliary Bishop.

Known as the first Krobo Bishop ever in Ghana to be appointed to the high office of an Auxiliary Bishop for the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, Rev. Father Anthony Narh Asare’s historic visit to Agormanya was significance as an illustrious son of the soil, born and baptised in the town 57 years ago. He also served several parishes and diverse fields of engagement, both locally and abroad.

Until his appointment, he was a member of the governing board of the Christ the King International School Cantonment. His academic laurels earned him grace in his 28-year journey in the Ministry.

Addressing the Congregation, Reverend Father Asare spelt out his new role and encouraged them to rally behind him to perform the task ahead to the best of his ability.

He urged the people to build a formidable foundation for future prospects and available opportunities.

The Parish Priest of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Suhum, Reverend Monsignor Paul Lawer, expressed joy for his appointment, especially as the first ever Krobo to attain that height.

He advised the people not to take advantage of his new assignment and make demands that were beyond the capacity of the new auxiliary Bishop for Accra.

He entreated Christian leaders to be accountable to God and the people ”putting away desire to amass wealth through dubious means”.

The Paramount Chief of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite, commended the new Bishop for earning that prestigious accolade and making the Kroboland and Dangmes proud.

Reverend Father Asare was later presented with gifts, beads, and other items in appreciation of the honour brought to Kroboland.
