A total of two hundred and three (203) needy tertiary students in the Kade Constituency of the Eastern Region have so far benefitted from a scholarship grant by the Member of Parliament of the area, Alexander Kojo Agyare.

This educational assistance is to lessen the financial burden on parents and guardians in the constituency who cannot afford to pay fees for their wards to be educated at the tertiary level.

The Kade Constituency Secretary of New Patriotic Party, NPP, Kofi Abrefa Busia who disclosed this in an interview with a GBC SUNRISE FM Reporter via telephone, noted that the assistance given to the students was a collaboration between the MP and Ghana Scholarship Secretariat.

This, he added will help to develop the human resources of the country towards its developmental agenda.

“Development is in two folds which is the physical infrastructure and human resources,  it is in light of this that Hon Alexander Kojo Agyare decided to offer scholarship to the less privileged in the Kade Constituency to help develop the country’s human resources”, he added.

According to him, background of beneficiaries were rigorously checked and verified to ensure that the beneficiaries qualified for the scholarship.

Mr. Abrefa Busia added that physical cash were not given to the student but paid into their various institution’s account to avoid the money being diverted for other purposes.

Some of the constituents were grateful for the MP’s effort in offering his widows mite to help keep the less privileged in school.
