News has erupted on Ghanaian social media spaces that Olivetheboy, a rising star in the Afrobeats genre, has been named the foremost ranked Ghanaian artiste in the first half of 2023 by Chartmetrics.
According to the report, Olivetheboy’s song ‘Goodsin’ was the most streamed Ghanaian song of 2023, the longest-running trend for a Ghanaian song on Tiktok in 2023, and the highest charting song on several major music charts on the continent.
The report also recognized other popular songs such as ‘Terminator’ by King Promise and ‘Into the Future’ by Stonebwoy. Notably, Olivetheboy topped the list, beating out well-known acts such as Black Sheriff, Gyakie, and KiDi. Olivetheboy’s rise to fame began with his hit single ‘Goodsin’, which became the most Shazamed song in Ghana and Nigeria.
The song reached ten million digital streams in record time and was the subject of a popular Tiktok challenge by entertainer and influencer, Endurance Grand.
