The newly refurbished Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park officially opened its doors to the public on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, after a temporary closure to facilitate preparations for commercial operations.
However, tourists who visit the centre will pay as much as four times the old rate.
For Ghanaians, Adults pay 25 cedis, Tertiary students pay 15 cedis, SHS and JHS students pay 10 cedis, and Children pay 5 cedis.
For Non-Ghanaians, Adults pay 100 cedis, tertiary students pay 60 cedis, and Children pay 30 cedis.
For event organisers who want to utilise the park for their various events with a limited number, the price ranges between 2000 and 5000 cedis, depending on the duration.
Major additions to the park include a Presidential Library, a reception facility, an Amphitheatre, a restaurant, Freedom Hall, and a digitalized payment and access system, amounting to a refurbishment cost of over GH¢30 million.
The park’s highlight, his vintage Cadillac, has a sparkling new look which immediately captures the admiration of visitors at the entry of the reception building.
The reopening indeed did ensemble a good number of curious minds and eyes, far and near, to come and have a new feel of the park dedicated to the man who led the toil for the independence of this country, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The park, which generated significant interest during its initial opening last week, is located on the Atta Mills Highway in Accra, adjacent to the Arts Centre.
