“You do not need to fight or quarrel with the fuel attendant when you feel that you’ve been cheated. Just claim a receipt and come straight to the office and report. NPA will immediately send a team to where you bought the fuel and investigate.”

The Upper East Regional Manager of National Petroleum Authority, NPA, Mr. Bashiru Natogma explained.

The Manager hinted that he is aware that many people are ignorant about their right to report to the NPA about any ill treatment they get at the pumps.

Prices of fuel products drop

He revealed that it is wrong to engage fuel attendants when one is served with bad fuel or when one is served less than the price he or she is paying for.

Mr. Natogma was speaking to GBCNews in the Upper East Region after a media engagement.

“It is very common to see people quarreling at the pumps over cheating and other issues. You can be compensated when your report turns out to be true after investigations. So my advice to fuel consumers is that our office is always ready to attend to issues like this.”

Mr. Natogma used the opportunity to caution the general public not to patronize smuggled fuel products.
