The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta, is expected to present the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government of Ghana for the 2023 Financial Year to Parliament on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
This will be done under the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), and Members are entreated to take note of this day and avail themselves of the presentation accordingly.
To deal with many of the pending issues before the House, the Business Committee proposed an extension of sitting time.
Accordingly, “Speaker, the Business Committee again recommends that the House commence sitting each day at 10:00 a.m. and also have extended sittings to ensure that business scheduled for the seventh week, particularly the Bills programmed are considered by the House and the same passed expeditiously”.
The Committee hoped that “this recommendation, if adopted, would also facilitate the consideration of other parliamentary business that would require the attention of the House”.
This was contained in the business statement for the seven weeks ending Friday, July 21st, 2023, presented on Friday, July 14, 2023.
