The New Patriotic Party has introduced a new digital payment platform for the collection of membership dues to rake in more funds for the party’s 2023 election campaign.

The dues in four categories, bronze, silver, gold and platinum, will serve as a membership drive to register at least 2 million members before the 2024 General Election.

These were announced at a News Conference addressed by the party’s Chairman, Stephen Ntim in Accra.

Although the party did not disclose how much revenue this payment system will generate, it said ”the process will be transparent”.

The party’s Chairman Stephen Ntim, said every category comes with benefits.

With some aspirants raising concern about the decision of the party to delete some names from the Electoral College Album ahead of its August Delegates Congress to trim the number of Flagbearer Aspirants to five, questions were being raised about the potential of this new system to disenfranchise voters.

However, the party says the electoral roll will not be affected.
