Ghanaian actor, Fred Nuamah, has officially withdrawn from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
In a letter addressed to the party’s General Secretary on August 7, Nuamah stated that the decision was entirely personal and came after thorough consultations with key stakeholders, with no external influence.
“I am writing to formally notify the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about my decision to withdraw from the Ayawaso West-Wuogon NDC parliamentary primaries. This decision was personal and was made after extensive consultations with key stakeholders, without any external influence,” he said in the letter dated August 7.
Nuamah, 47, who has transitioned from acting to politics, expressed his support for his close friend John Dumelo to become the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency.
He emphasized the importance of presenting a united front for the NDC in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
