A ban has been placed on the movement of tricycles also known as ‘Pragya’ in parts of Greater Accra.
The decision was taken by the Regional Coordinating Council by consensus yesterday.
A statement issued by the Council said the unregulated activities and operations of “Pragyia” and “Aboboyaa” result in heavy traffic and chaotic scenes with indiscriminate packing and flouting of traffic regulations.
Areas affected include the Business Districts (CBD) of Accra Metropolitan, Krowor, Korle Klottey, Tema Metropolitan, La Dade Kotopon, La Nkwantanang Madina, Ayawaso East, Ayawaso West, Ayawaso Central, Ayawaso North, Ledzokuku, Okaikwei North and Adentan Municipal.
