When the nation turns the corner into the 2024 political season, Mr. Francis Addae Nimoh, will be one of the ten candidates vying to lead the NPP into the December General Election.
He says he has a desire to enable every Ghanaian to be their very best in all their endeavours.
This is Mr. Addae Nimoh’s second attempt to assume the highest position in the NPP.
Background:
Born March 23, 1965, Francis Kwabena Addai-Nimoh is a Christian and married with three children. The indigene of Mampong-Nyampong in the Ashanti Region, studied Civil Engineering, obtaining his BSc Honours from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 1993. After his first-degree Francis Addae Nimo, worked for a few engineering firms, gaining experience in data collection, road design, contract specification and construction supervision, bitumen production, and organising training sessions to improve standards.
In 2004, the Ministry of Roads and Highways engaged Mr. Addai-Nimoh as a senior engineer, with the responsibility of monitoring and evaluating all Government of Ghana road projects. He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, and also holds an Executive Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (2009). Previously, he had acquired knowledge and skills in International Procurement from the International Law Institute, Washington in 2004, also a learning Programme and Project Management at RIPA, in 2006 in London, and enhancing his Negotiation Skills, Contract Management and Administration at the Ghana Institution of Engineers in 2005.
Political Ambition:
In 2008, Mr. Francis Addai-Nimoh entered into the country’s political space. His first election campaign saw him winning a seat as Member of Parliament for the Mampong Constituency in the Ashanti region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party until 2017. He served as the Ranking Member of Parliament on the Select Committee on Environment, Science and Technology from 2013-2017. Mr. Francis Addai-Nimoh, took leave from Parliament in 2017.
He became Managing Director at Franstan Limited, a road construction-oriented company, overseeing construction projects and other endeavours involving the general distribution of supplies and bitumen. In 2014 Mr. Addae Nimoh contested in the NPP’s presidential primaries in 2014. A contest that saw the sitting President Nana Akufo-Addo being elected to lead the Party. Mr. Francis Addae Nimoh, is making another attempt in the NPP’s Presidential race.
He says his main motivation is seeking to lead the NPP and run for the highest office of the land. His desire is to enable every Ghanaian to be their very best.
Mr. Francis Addae Nimoh, says he will focus on education, health, accountability, infrastructure, employment, improvements to the public service structure and culture and agriculture and food security if he becomes Ghana’s next President.
Mr. Francis Addae Nimoh, says his qualities which include being Practical, Honest, Humble and capable puts him in a good position to lead the NPP to break the 8.
