African leaders in Kenya, Nairobi for Continent’s Climate Summit

Kenya is hosting Africa’s first climate conference, designed to showcase the continent as a potential powerhouse for green energy, in the first of many big meetings ahead of UN talks.

Kenyan President William Ruto says he wants the first African Climate Summit, running in Nairobi from today to Wednesday, to help “deliver African solutions”. 

The goal is to transform the continent into the source of the world’s revolution in green power.

Kenyan President Dr William Ruto presided over the opening plenary session of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) at KICC in Nairobi.

Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya delivered the welcoming address at the session themed, ‘The Power of the Potential’, attended by several Kenyan and African Union dignitaries, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
