More Examination mal-practice recorded at WASSCE Centres

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC says a number of malpractices have been recorded in the ongoing West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations WASSCE across the country.

The Council says ”irregularities such as foreign materials found on candidates, smuggling of mobile phones and electronic gadgets into Examination Halls, Syndicate cheating, impersonation among others have been recorded so far”.

At a News briefing in Accra, Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi said the Council will stop at nothing to ensure that the system is sanitized.

In his response to questions of intimidation of students in the Examination Hall, Mr. Kapi said no WAEC staff will intimidate a Candidate.

He noted that eradicating examination malpractice is a shared responsibility.

On arrests, he said some arrests have been made and investigations into other cases are underway.
