Vice President and NPP Presidential Hopeful, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has promised a “break through” in the strongholds of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general election.

The Vice president assured the NPP faithful when he visited Oti Region.

He said he has a winning spirit, which positions him as the preferred candidate over other NPP hopefuls.

Addressing party members in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti region, Dr. Bawumia thanked the delegates for their massive support during the Super Delegates Congress and asked them to do same in the November 4th election.

“People in the Zongo communities say they doubt that the NPP will ever make Dr. Bawumia the flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 general election. However, if they do bring Bawumia, we will vote massively for him. Thus, the NDC will lose massively in their two strongholds, the North and the Zongo Communities, should Bawumia emerge as flagbearer.”

“I will also win more votes for the NPP in the Volta Region. Therefore, I will shake all their strongholds. That is why they (NDC) do not want Dr. Bawumia to emerge as the flagbearer. Because they know that as flagbearer, I will give them a showdown in their strongholds,” he stated.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said that with the experience he has gathered in the previous elections, he is the best candidate to match the NDC in the 2024 Elections.

He said the 2024 elections is like a World Final, and every team needs a striker with experience to score goals.

“If the NPP needs a striker to score goals in the World Cup Final, then I am the best striker.”

The Vice President later joined Ghana’s Ambassador to Togo, Nana Kofi Mensah Dematiah, to mourn with him.

H. E. Nana Kofi Mensah Dematiah lost his sister-in-law and was buried on September 9, 2023, the same day the Vice President visited Kete Krachi in the Oti region.
