Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, has written to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana under the Right to Information (RTI) Law to seek answers on transactions by the Central Bank.
He made the demand in his letter, which was dated Monday, September 11th, 2023.
Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa asked 10 questions regarding a change of decision in the erection of a Head Office at the Accra Marine Drive Office project.
Mr Samuel Okudzeto also alleged that an amount of $5 million was paid to a company, Marine Metro Development Limited, which was only incorporated in 2020.
The MP for North Tongu Constituency also stated that incontrovertible incorporation documents obtained from the office of the Registrar of Companies reveal that Dr. Kwame Nyantekyi-Owusu is a Director of Marine Metro Development Limited.
He also states that from the Bank of Ghana’s 2020, 2021, and 2022 Annual Report and Financial Statements, it is noted that Dr. Kwame Nyantekyi-Owusu has been appointed to and serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of the Bank of Ghana.
