The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) has sent a congratulatory message to President Simeon-Okraku and Dr. Randy Abbey following their re-election as President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Member of the Executive Council of the GFA respectively.
In a statement from the communications department of the VRFA, the Regional Association said they are “duty ready” and assured the President they will carry out his vision for the development of Football in Ghana.
President Simeon-Okraku was on Thursday, October 5, 2023 re-elected for a second term after receiving an outstanding endorsement from delegates at the GFA Elective congress in Tamale.
He polled 117 votes out of the 120 votes cast to retain his seat for the next four years.
The VRFA also says it poses confidence in Dr. Ransford Abbey, President of Kpando Heart of Lions ability as he returns to the Executive Council of the GFA.
Excerpt of the congratulatory statement reads “We have no doubts about your capabilities to help take Ghana Football to another level.”
Dr. Abbey got an overwhelming endorsement as he polled the highest number of votes (12 out of 18) by any of the 10 aspirants in the GFA Executive Council Elections for Premier League Clubs.
The President of Kpando Heart of Lions has successfully retained his seat.
Kpando Hearts of Lions FC is the sole Premier Club from the Volta Region competing in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, an enviable slot the VRFA is proud of.
