The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the deposit of GH¢2.5 million, which was received from Nana Appiah Mensah, the former CEO of Menzgold, at the Bank of Ghana.

In a statement posted on X (Formerly Twitter), the Police Service stated that the funds were received “on the advice of the Office of the Attorney-General, on Friday, October 20.”

The Police reported that the received amount has been deposited “in the Police Exhibit account at the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for the attention of the Court.”

This is in connection with investigations into petitions received from some customers of MenzGold Ghana Company Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Limited, which are presently before the Accra High Court against the accused Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1.

The statement emphasized that decisions regarding the disbursement of the money would be determined by the court.

Menzgold handed over the money to the Ghana Police Service to oversee payments to customers who, according to the company, have complied with the protocols and validation processes on Friday, October 20.
