Yesterday, Christians across denominations, professions, and various interest groups converged at the Action Chapel International in Accra to begin a three-day National Christian Forum (NCF).

The 2023 National Christian Forum (NCF23) which marks the fourth in the series of the NFC is been organised by the Advocates for Christ Ghana (A4CG) a Christian Non-profit professional group on the theme; “Election 2024; Assessing the impact of Political Parties and how Christians should vote.”

Addressing the gathering, A Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Fred Deegbe speaking on the topic; “The Impact of Political Parties on the Church” said our current crop of politicians do not think about the good of the people and the development of the country but are always thinking about how to the next elections.

“Political parties don’t seem to focus on development, they are always looking more at how to finance the next elections,” he reiterated.

According to him, things are not working as they should be because those elected to ensure that the masses do the right things, and follow laws, rules, and regulations to the latter have turned a blind eye to wrongdoings.

“Our politicians deliberately put a blind eye to wrongdoing because they want to get the popular votes to hang onto power,” He noted.

Rev. Dr. Deegbe has, therefore, challenged citizens especially Christians to abide by the laws of the land and ensure that they live according to what the Bible usher them to do.

On his part, Rev, Julius Koomson, called on Christendom to speak truth to power. One of the key responsibilities as Christians is living as salt and light on earth.

“As Christians, we are supposed to represent Christ in Ghana in whatever space we occupy,” he noted.
