The Yagbonwura, Soale Jewu Bikunuto has enskinned the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with a chieftaincy title ‘Kononkowule wura’, meaning a “Chief of Unity” at a ceremony at Damongo.
The Vice President paid a courtesy call on the Yagbonwura to announce his victory in the recent New Patriotic Party, NPP, Presidential primaries to lead the NPP in the 2024 general election.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by Party Chairman, Stephen Ntim and other Party stalwarts from the Northern sector of the country.
He said the title conferred on him is as a result of his leadership quality to bring unity among the people of the country.
The Yagbonwura pledged his support for the Vice President and prayed for God’s guidance.
The Vice President thanked the Yagbonwura for tthe honour done him, saying he is a son of the traditional area.
Dr. Bawumia noted that the Yagbonwura has always been his father and prayed that his reign will see prosperity for his people and the country at large.
The Vice President promised to rehabilitate the Jakpa Palace to give it a befitting status.
