FIFA has named its final three for the Best Men’s FIFA Player.
The nomination has some interesting names making it in there, in the likes of Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.
The FIFA awards give recognition to outstanding players who have been very influential in the game from December 2022 to August 2023. The three finalists deserve to merit that recognition considering their exploits with both Club and Country.
The 8-time Ballon D’or winner once again finds himself in another huge category of competition in the Best Men’s FIFA Player of the Year award.
Lionel Messi, since December 2022 has been arguably the best athlete in the world after helping Argentina win the prestigious World Cup trophy in Qatar.
Erling Haaland last season caused panic in the Premier League scoring 36 goals which saw him set a new record in the Premier League for most goals scored by a player in a single Premier League season after Manchester United striker Andy Cole and Blackburn’s Alan Shearer’s 34 goals. His exploits added the Champions League, Premier League and the FA Cup to his trophy Cabinet.
Kylian Mbappe was one of the standout players in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The French international staged a masterclass performance against Argentina in the World Cup finals scoring 3 important goals to force the game to penalties which eventually saw his team on the wrong side of things.
Mbappe also ensured PSG won their eighth domestic title of the last 11 years with his superb form in-front of goal, scoring 26 goals.
The winners will be crowned on January 15, 2024, in London.
