Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, has asked non-political actors to stay away from the District Level Elections to ensure a smooth process.

“Elections are about sharing ideas. So don’t try to influence voters with money, and nonpolitical actors should stay away from the voting process,” he added.

In an interview on GTV’s Breakfast Show, the Director of Electoral Services of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Quaicoe, appreciated the media for publicising the district-level elections and said they were prepared for the elections.

“With regards to preparation, there are 3 stages in preparation: registers and privileges, which were sent to the regional level 2 weeks ago; equipping and training of officials; and the distribution of ballot papers, which we have sent to the various regions,” he said.

Highlighting some concerns, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe said the EC is working hard to ensure that it is able to address the issues of hard-to-reach areas.
