Come together and let’s develop Yilo State -Stakeholders tell indigenes of Yilo Krobo

The people of Yilo Krobo State have held the Second Edition of the Yilo State Annual Homecoming Summit 2023 at Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region with a call on indigenes to come on board to contribute their quota for the development of the municipality.

The second edition of the homecoming brought together hundreds of indigenes to share ideas on how to develop the area devoid of politics. 

The Second Edition of the Yilo State Annual Homecoming Summit 2023 which was aimed at sharing ideas about how to promote development in the Yilo Krobo municipality was also used to honour people from the Yilo State who have distinguished themselves in various fields from business, administration to education.

They were given a plaque and a citation and most notable among them was the Yilo Krobo Municipal Chief Executive, MCE, Eric Tetteh who was appreciated for being the brain behind the homecoming summit to promote development of the municipality. 

Addressing the summit, the MCE called on all indigenes of the Yilo Krobo State both home and abroad to come on board to help in the development of the municipality devoid of any politics.

He opined that most of the people in the municipality reside in the rural areas and there is the need to unite for the development in the rural areas.

The Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Albert Tetteh Nyarkotey noted that the outcome of the maiden edition of the summit resulted in individuals voluntarily coming together to help in the pavement of the Akutunya Lorry Park in Somanya which is almost 70 percent complete.

He called on everyone to contribute their quota for the development of the municipality devoid of any politics.

Mr. Tetteh Nyarkotey promised that he will continue to collaborate with the MCE to ensure that they provide the needed development that the municipality requires since the challenges of the municipality are enormous and requires a collaborative effort to alleviate the challenges.

In an interview with one of the participants who is the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Finance and Administration at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC, Benjamin Kwaku Acolatse.

He reiterated that there is the need for everyone to give back to society especially where one comes from.

Mr. Acolatse revealed that it is pertinent for everyone to have the development of where they come from at heart and help in the development and progress of the area.

The Konor of Yilo Krobo Traditional Area, Oklepeme Anorbah Sasraku noted that there is the need to deliberate and strategize to help in the development of the municipality.

He pointed out that the development of an area is not the responsibility of a single person and therefore there is the need for collaboration from everyone to develop the municipality.
