The Member of Parliament, MP, for Pru West, Mr. Stephen Pambiin Jalulah, who is also the Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, has been enstooled “Mpuntuohene” which is the Development Chief, by the Abease Traditional Council.
The Omanhene of the Abease Traditional Area, Obrempong Kru-Takyi, said the MP has worked on virtually touched every sector of the local economy in the traditional area requiring development, and therefore the recognition.
He said, “through our own son Hon. Stephen Pimbiin Jalaluah, MP for Pru West and Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, communities including Krobo, Kamampa and Charembo currently have a stable telecommunication network and have also been connected to the National Grid”.
The Omanhene of the Abease Traditional Area, Obrempong Kru-Takyi, said through the sterling performance of the MP for Pru West, Mr. Stephen Pambiin Jalulah, the area has had quite a chunk of the national cake, including the ongoing reconstruction of the 103km Kintampo-Apesika-Abease-Prang Road, whose abandonment was a major headache to Nananom and the entire populace of commuters who ply the road daily.
The Abease Traditional Area in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region has over 40 communities.
A visit by GBC News to the traditional area showed that through the effort of the MP, almost all the deplorable roads connecting the communities to its market centers have been rehabilitated.
At Krobo, the Chief of the area, Nana Oppong II, who is also the Nifahene of the Abease Traditional Council, praised the MP for rehabilitating the Krobo-Kamampa, Charembo-Zambrama road, connecting the communities to the national grid and providing them with a stable telecommunication network.
Nana Oppong said; ‘the untarred road made travelling either in the rainy season or dry season difficult”. The chief also commended the Pru West MP for facilitating the ongoing construction of the Kintampo-Apesika-Abease-Prang Road.
A resident of Charembo, Mr. Gideon Yeboah, applauded the MP and the government for the numerous development projects.
“Through Hon. Jalulah, Charemo and its adjourning communities have potable water, good link roads, access to subsidized farm inputs, particularly the youth, electricity and befitting classroom blocks for basic schools in the area”.
The MP in partnership with Madamfo Ghana Foundation has provided the Abease Adventist Preparatory School and Dama Nkwanta Primary School with potable water. Through the MP, the Dama Nkwanta health center currently has a decent maternity block. Bronikrom and Baaya CHPs Compound also has a befitting nurses bungalow.
A nurse at the Bayaa CHPs compound Edward Anokye, told the news team that the provision of the bungalow by the MP has contributed significantly in bringing quality healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of the people in the area. “When I was posted here, I was wondering how I will be able to live in the community and work in this facility, but arriving here to see this nice bungalow has motivated me a lot”. Mr. Anokye said the move by the MP will go a long way to motivate nurses to accept postings to the Baaya community.
At the Abeaseman SHS, the headmaster of the school, Mr. Thomas Kofi Baah, commended the MP and Madamfo Ghana Foundation for providing them with potable water, facilitating the construction of a girl’s hostel, ongoing construction of a 24-seater place of convenience, furnishing the physics, biology and chemistry laboratories among others.
He said; “ we used to travel to Prang for our science practicals, but that’s is a thing of the past because the Hon. Jalulah has equipped our laboratory with all the needed learning materials”.
Mr. Baah said the MP has promised to furnish their computer lab, extent electricity to a newly constructed hostel, facilitate the construction of teachers bungalow and also help the school attain a boarding status.
Residents of Abease-Buipe told the news team that the ongoing construction of the CHPs Compound will help to improve quality healthcare delivery in the area.
A Unit Committee Member for the area, Mr. Akwasi Poku, said residents of Abease-Buipe and its surrounding communities hitherto had to travel the 15km journey to Prang, the district capital, to access healthcare.
He said the facility will also help boost the economy of the Abease-Buipe zone since time spent in visiting the Prang Heath Centre wil be used for their economic activities.
The MP for Pru West, Mr. Stephen Pimbiin Jalulah, who is also the Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, again pledged to continue contributing his quota in improving the standards of education, health, subsidized farm inputs accessible to the youth, provision of potable water, provide access road to the underdeveloped Benim waterfalls, provide the waterfalls with reception facilities and ensure that the ongoing rehabilitation of the Kintampo-Apesika-Prang Road is completed within schedule.
