Black Stars have continued to dip in form as they show no sign of climbing back up and taking on the challenge to do better as most football fans in Ghana expect from them. Following the goalless draw against Namibia, Black Stars Coach, Chris Hughton has expressed strong optimism about the future of the team heading into the AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire.

The Black Stars coach added that, his team will give off their all in the AFCON.

The Black Stars on Monday night left the fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium questioning their chances in the 34th edition of the AFCON tournament, not to mention their chances of winning the trophy.

These questions have been tackled by Chris Hughton, who believes the team is willing to do more for the flag and country.

“How far we can go depends on the performances that we can put in. One thing I know is that this is a group of players that want to do well. And if you have a group of players that desperately want to do well you never know what can happen and I certainly don’t want to be a head coach of a team that doesn’t think that we have a chance of winning it”; Chris Hughton said.

He added that, the mentality of the team has to be geared towards winning, no matter the situation. He said, the team must be careful when it comes to injuries and be optimistic of going far and doing very well.

The team will depart to Cote D’Ivoire on Wednesday, 10th January, 2024 to begin their preparation towards their first game against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on Sunday 14th January, 2024 in their quest to win their fifth AFCON trophy.
