Businessman cum politician, Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known in the business circles as Freedom Jacob Caesar, has expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of ‘The Convention Event’ which was put together by his foundation, the New African Foundation.

He indicated that the cancellation of ‘The Convention Event’ was as result of an alleged presidential order.

Reacting to the cancellation of his event which was scheduled to take place at the Black Star Square, the Businessman said he is alarmed as to why foreign events are welcomed and in Ghana whereas the authorities shun locally owned events/organisers.

Speaking in an interview with the media on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in Accra, Nana Kwame Bediako insisted that, “Discussions were held with the Director of Diaspora Affairs regarding ‘The Convention Event.’ Saying both parties agreed to the terms and condition concerning the use of venue for the event, so it came to me as a surprise when the agreement to use the venue was cancelled at the eleventh hour.

“The contrast between the acceptance of foreign events and the indifference towards local ones is evident” he added.
