The Black Stars of Ghana conducted their first training session in Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10, gearing up for the opening match against Cape Verde at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The training session, lasting just over an hour, is a crucial part of their preparations for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023, scheduled to commence on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Upon their arrival in Abidjan on Wednesday afternoon, Ghana’s Black Stars swiftly proceeded to the training ground in the evening.
The players, in high spirits, engaged in drills under the guidance of coach Chris Hughton.
Ghana’s debut in the tournament will be against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14.
Having landed in Ivory Coast to a warm welcome at the airport, adorned in traditional kente attire, the entire squad of 27 players actively participated in the initial training session as they gear up for the tournament’s kick-off.
