Black Stars Coach Chris Hughton has watered down the fear of Ghanaians regarding the injury of midfielder Majeed Ashimeru.

The Anderlecht playmaker was subbed out of the game after picking up an injury against Egypt.

Majeed Ashimeru has breathed life into his national team activities with a flamboyant performance in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

According to some fans, his absence in the later part of the game against Egypt contributed to the goals the Black Stars conceded.

With the team targeting a win against Mozambique, head coach Chris Hughton has allayed the fears of many Ghanaians.

“Majeed is racing against time to fully recover for the game on Monday, but he has been training. We will continue to assess him to ascertain his match readiness for the game on Monday. We are highly optimistic of his availability.”

The 26-year-old has flourished in the middle of the park for Ghana, and his skills will be needed to nail The Mambas.
