The Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has tasked the Ghana Immigration Service to adopt strategies to be ahead of perpetrators of crimes of human and drug trafficking, money laundering, smuggling of migrants among others.
He said such criminals are properly networked across the country and there is therefore the need for a coordinated approach to counter their activities.
Mr. Dery said this at the Regional Commanders Conference of the Ghana Immigration Service in Accra.
He expressed concern about the country’s abysmal track record on human trafficking from 2014 to 2016, adding that efforts have been put in place to improve the situation.
