Members of the University for Development Studies (UDS), chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana have called on the public, parents and university students to hold the government responsible for any consequences that may arise as a result of the indefinite strike.
The action has rendered the student body on the campuses of UDS stranded and frustrated as all services have been closed.
A check by GBC News on the main campus of UDS saw the withdrawal of services including security, health, and administration.
Students expressed worry about the issue and acknowledged how the strike is affecting them.
Chairman of the Senior Staff Association, UDS, Zakaria Mohammed, said the staff are complying with their leadership’s decision to embark on a nationwide strike.
Mr. Mohammed called on the student body to put pressure on the government and the National Labour Commission to do the needful.
The striking members are calling on the government to address their concerns regarding the payment of their tier two pension and issues related to their overtime allowance, among others.
