The Black Stars disastrous performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has got football fans lingering on the edge of totally shifting their attention away from the national team.

Many have called on the GFA to come out and explain to Ghanaians why the team couldn’t qualify for the knockout stage of the AFCON tournament for the second consecutive season.

In a discussion with GTV Sports Plus, former GFA President Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi touched on these concerning issues as he sided with all football fans in Ghana who are calling out the GFA to apologise to Ghanaians.

“The GFA must come out and apologise. They need to assuage the pain of the people by telling them they are sorry and being ready to make amends and move forward,” said Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi added that the GFA is just a trustee or custodian managing the national team on behalf of Ghana, so Ghanaians strongly deserve an apology from the GFA.

Although the Ministry of Sports has already issued an official apology, it is the mandate of the GFA to do the same.
