The Abbosey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has rallied behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s proposal to introduce a flexible flat-rate tax regime if elected president.
The association, in a statement, said the proposal would help spare parts dealers all over the nation and urged its members to support the plan.
It explained that the proposed flat rate tax is poised to significantly reduce the cost of spare parts, providing much-needed relief to commercial drivers who routinely factor these expenses into transport fares.
Vice President Bawumia revealed plans to introduce the policy when he delivered his presidential vision on Wednesday, February 7, in Accra.
The Association expressed its appreciation for the visionary proposal put forth by Dr. Bawumia, saying it will play a crucial role in safeguarding the interests of spare parts dealerships nationwide.
