Cote d’Ivoire’s Alassane Ouattara lauds President Akufo-Addo for outstanding leadership

The President of Côte d’Ivoire Alassane Ouattara has commended Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his outstanding and exceptional leadership as President of Ghana. The Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, joined Ghana to mark her 67th Independence Day Celebration on March 6, 2024, at the Koforidua Youth Resource Center in the Eastern region.

Alhassane Quattara was invited as the Guest of Honor to commemorate the occasion. 

During President Alhassane Quattara’s speech, he congratulated Ghana for the wonderful celebration and thanked President Akufo-Addo, for inviting him to celebrate with Ghana 67 years after Independence.

“It is a great pleasure to be here today to experience the legendary hospitality of Ghana, ”he said, highlighting that Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire are bound not only geographically but also by ”history, friendship, and culture”. 

President Alassane Ouattara mentioned that it is a great joy for him to stand by the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, ”to celebrate Ghana and the citizens of this beautiful and wonderful country, who since 1957 have shown the way to independence, dignity, and pride”. 

President Ouattara congratulated the parade contingents for a beautiful and outstanding performance.

He again used this opportunity to commend the leadership and the achievements of Ghana despite the adverse challenges at the global level, ”with COVID, there is war between Russia and Ukraine, and obviously in Gaza and Palestine” he elaborated.

The Ivorian Leader thanked President Akufo-Addo for his commitment to regional economic integration, which he has shown during his tenure as president of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and Ghana for its contribution towards the success of the 13th AFCON, which was hosted by Cote d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
