IPLS holds graduation ceremony for professional paralegals

The Institute of Paralegal Training and Leadership Studies (IPLS) has graduated 80 students on the Professional Executives Master in alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR) in Accra.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, President of the Ghana National Association of ADR practitioners, Daniel Owusu Koranteng said the practice is a professional way of resolving disputes outside the court litigation system which is more peaceful and time saving.

According to him, the ‘Masters’ class had a wide array of leaned individuals and professionals with high standing in society which gave ADR rich experience in handling disputes of all magnitude.

He asked the courts to consider providing conference rooms to guarantee a level playing field for ADR practice, while admonishing government to increase renumeration for ADR practitioners.

He entreated the newly recognized practitioners to live above reproach, be honest and remain balanced in their judgements. 

Programs Director of IPLS, Godslove Korkor Nartey called on Ghanaians to subscribe to the training course in order to upgrade their skills, understand and apply the laws of Ghana.

Among those who were trained where Musician Okyeame Kwame and Councillor, Rev Charlotte Oduro.
