Otto Addo returns as head coach of the senior national team the Black Stars after leaving his role in 2022 which saw Chris Hughton take charge of affairs.

The Ghanaian coach will resume duty starting from Friday 15th March 2024 as Ghana prepares to face both Nigeria and Uganda in a friendly match at Marrakech, Morocco. The big one against Nigeria will take place on March 22nd 2024.

Otto Addo is no stranger to the national team as he led the team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup  in Qatar putting Ghana’s disappointments on missing out on the 2018 World Cup behind them. His first spell at the national team wasn’t too convincing enough as he failed to qualify the team out of the group stage of the World Cup.

This appointment won’t come as new to Ghanaian football followers, who have seen much of the Borussia Dortmund trainer already. Otto Addo will join the team for the March international break, after which he will travel back to the club to officially hand over and take up the job permanently in May this year.
