President Akufo-Addo touts commitment to Ghanaian Children’s right to education

President Akufo-Addo says ensuring quality education for the country’s children is a right he is happy to have respected since assuming the seat of government.

He said the government has spent 12 point 8 billion cedis to ensure the country’s youth enjoy Free Senior High School education.

President Akufo-Addo said under his watch, the investments made in the education sector is unmatched to any government under the forth Republic.

The President reiterated the covid 19 pandemic and its impact on the economy, which did not stop the government from ensuring that the education sector receives what is due.

Further to the country’s digitisation agenda, the government has distributed laptops to teachers and lecturers and is in the process to ensure more receive gadgets at a discounted rate to enhance teaching and learning.

President Akufo-Addo was speaking in Accra at the launch of Smart Schools, a One Child One Tablet initiative.
