Two hospitals record 16 births on Christmas Eve in Sunyani

Sixteen babies were born on the Eve of Christmas in two hospitals in the Sunyani Municipality a Ghana News Agency (GNA) report has revealed.
The Sunyani Municipal Hospital recorded nine births comprising six males and three females, whilst seven births, comprising five females and two males were recorded at the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Hospital.
When the GNA visited the facilities on Wednesday, the babies were in good condition, whilst health workers – nurses and doctors were on duty.
The SDA Hospital, however, recorded one Caesarian Section (CS), and the baby girl was also in good condition.
A Senior Staff Midwife at the SDA Hospital, Rosemond Owusu commended the nursing mothers for attending regular antenatal clinics, which facilitated their smooth deliveries.
At the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, also Senior Staff Midwife, Serwaa Akoto advised pregnant and nursing mothers to eat enough fruits and vegetables, and reduce intake of fatty foods, so that they can improve their haemoglobin levels, which could enhance the general health conditions of their unborn babies.
