The Office of the late Municipal Chief Executive, MCE for Krachi East in Oti Region, Bernard Aboakogya has been destroyed by fire, a week after his death.
Mr. Bernard Aboakogya died last week after he collapsed when he was addressing Students of Dambai College of Education in the Krachi East Municipal of the Oti Region.
He was rushed to the Worawora Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Municipality is still in shock about the MCE’s passing only for his office to be destroyed by fire seven days after he was confirmed dead.
The National Fire service got to the scene after a good Samaritan who was passing by saw the fire and sounded the alarm.
The Ghana National Fire Service is yet to establish the cause of the fire, however investigations have commenced, according to authorities.
The Assistant Divisional Officer 1, Mr Stephen Agortor of the Dambai Fire Command has confirmed to Journalists that they were able to bring the fire under control but, ”everything in the office got burned”.
He asked the public to exercise restraint while investigations continue.
The late MCE, Bernard Aboakogya succeeded MCE Francis Kofi Okesu who died in a hotel room in Kumasi.
Body of Bernard Aboakogya has been placed at the morgue of the Worawora Government Hospital, while investigations continue.
