A former Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has received a blow with a loss in the Ejisu NPP parliamentary primaries.

Mr Nyantakyi, who described himself as ‘Ejisu Cristiano Ronaldo’ secured 35 out of more than 1,000 votes cast.

Mr. Nyantakyi’s modest vote count positioned him in 5th place on the ballot, with the incumbent 2nd Deputy Constituency Chairman, Kwabena Boateng, emerging as the winner with 393 votes.

The primary’s standout contender was Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, the 2nd Deputy Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ejisu, whose closest rival, Helena Mensah, polled 302 votes.

Mr. Nyantkyi faced some public criticism over past skurmishes in the GFA,  when he announced he was joining the primaries to contest the Ejisu seat following the demise of John Kumah.

The former GFA boss’s rebuttal rests on the fact that no court barred him from contesting the Elections.
