UniMAC: Class of 2023 Graduates urged to give back to society

The graduation ceremony for the University of Media Arts and Communication‘s class of 2023 was a lively event, filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment. The ceremony took place at the university’s South Legon campus and marked the 2nd congregation of the institution.

Students from various institutes within the university gathered to celebrate their graduation. The Institute of Film and Television, the Institute of Journalism, and the Institute of Languages were all represented, with graduands proudly donning their gowns. Friends, families, and loved ones attended the event to support and cheer on their graduates.

The faculty and academic staff were also dressed in their traditional regalia, adding to the formal and celebratory atmosphere.

The Chairman of the UNIMAC Council, Professor Kwasi Yankah, delivered a warm and inspiring address to the graduands. He acknowledged their achievements and encouraged them to use their education to contribute to the nation’s development.

He noted that while their academic journey had been challenging, the journey ahead would require even greater dedication as they strive to repay society’s investment in their education.

“The tasks ahead are more formidable as you strive to give back to society,” said Professor Yankah. “We celebrate your resilience and hard work, and we look forward to witnessing your future achievements.” He added 

Dr. Shirley P. Owusu Ofori, CEO of the National Blood Service, also addressed the audience, offering words of encouragement. She urged the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills they had acquired to contribute to national development.

The ceremony was filled with a sense of pride and excitement for what the future holds for these new graduates. It was a time for reflection on past accomplishments and a look ahead to the opportunities that await them as they embark on the next phase of their lives.
