An Economist and Dean of the University of Cape Coast Business School, Professor John Gatsi says factors that led to the rapid volatility of the economy leading to low growth are no more there.
He said it is expected that once these challenges are non existent, the economy must bounce back.
Speaking to GBC Business News in reaction to IMF’s statement that Ghana’s economy is on the path of recovery, Professor Gatsi said “in reality what recovery means may vary, saying if the cost of living is still high then the recovery being talked about should be in context”
Professor Gatsi said the IMF’s focus is on the conditionalities that Ghana must adhere to and “not necessarily the growth of the economy”.
