The Circuit Court in Achimota has remanded a self-acclaimed traditional ruler at Kasoa in the Central Region and National Security Operative Benlord Ababio, also known as Nana Barima Ababio, into custody.

Ababio is alleged to have shot and killed a military officer last Tuesday, April 30, at Kasoa over a land dispute.

The deceased Lance Corporal Michael Danso was a Military Oficer stationed at the Army Base Workshop at Burma Camp in Accra.

Last Tuesday at about 4pm, the late Lance Corporal Danso and two of his colleagues, Corporal Abdul Omar Rahman and Lance Corporal Ametus Mathew, went to the Millennium City Police station to lodge a complaint about encroachers developing a parcel of land belonging to Lance Corporal Rahman.

The accused allegedly appeared at the Police station, attacked, and also shot severally at Lance Corporal Danso, who was behind the steering wheel of a 4×4 vehicle, killing him instantly.

The facts narrate that Ababio was immediately disarmed and arrested for investigations. He will be back in court on May 16.
